Hi everyone. I have something to share with you all today. It’s something I’m a little bit ashamed of but I’m hoping this is a safe place where I won’t be judged.

I am addicted to cheese. I love it. I put it on everything. On toast, on pasta, on chili, on beans. You name it.

Obviously I know this isn’t the best thing for me (especially seeing as I am a little bit lactose intolerant …) as cheese is high in fat and I’m currently on something of a weight loss journey (more on that soon). I also have asthma and suffer a lot with a bad chest (don’t start) and dairy products are mucus forming and therefore detrimental to my condition.

I’ve been doing a lot of research lately into the benefits of a plant based diet. The idea behind it completely contradicts everything I have ever learned about diet and weight loss so at first I was a bit thrown. ‘So you’re telling me I can eat bread, pasta and as much fruit as I damn well please? And I don’t have to chug a disgusting protein shake after every work out? Can this be true??’

Well there’s only one thing for it guys. I’m going to give it a go. I’ve been vegetarian for about 10/11 years at this point so, for me, meat is not an issue. But, as I already confessed, I love cheese. And eggs. And yogurt. This is going to be a tricky one for me.

Pictured above is the vegan cheese pizza I made last night. It was actually quite good. I suppose as long as I can have my fave pizza with jalapenos I’ll be all good. Right? We shall see. I’ll be updating you all sporadically on my success.

Are there any other plant-based/vegan people out there who can give me some advice on transitioning into this lifestyle? I would love to hear from you.
